Learning Journey @ Singapore National Museum

The long awaited class excursion 'arrived' again. On the 1st of April, April Fool too, we went the Singapore National Museum. The place was kinda quiet as there wasn't many people or tourist there. We first went to the museum gallery hall with a 'Companion'( A 'Tour Guide' Radio Device) and with a head phone (duh!). The inside was kinda scary as it was so quiet and dark to 'protect' the pictures as they are 'sensitive' to light. After the gallery, we went to the food gallery, followed by photograph gallery, fashion gallery and last but not least, film and wayang gallery. The video in the film and wayang gallery was a amusing one as there was this film on Pontianak. The part when they were fighting was kinda 'gay' and it looked like they were hugging. Overall, this trip to the museum change my point of view of museums as i thought it would be boring. Thumbs Up to this trip!

Term 2 Week 1 : Earth Hour

I think Earth Hour is an event that asks household and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate changes. It was first held in Sydney , Australia at 7.30 p.m. , local time. Earth Hour will next take place on Saturday , March 28, 2009 at 8.30 p.m. , local time. I guess i will be joining in this worldwide phenomenon event as Earth is ours and we have to protect it for our future generations. I think we can play pianos and guitars during the one hour event to kill time and not be tempted to watch TV. I think the Earth is facing a major climate change. Global Warming is one of them. People are burning unnecessary plastic as it cannot decompose or be destroyed. And with plastic being burned, gases are produced which are harmful towards Earth. It creates something like the green-house effect which traps the hot gas produced. Hence, Earth is heated and Global Warming is created. I think people should use less plastic as they are not easily destroyed which is one of the major 'culprit' to Global Warming.

I wish to score 250 for PSLE. To get the desire result, i have to score at least 82 for each subject.To get them, iw ill have to work hard.After my CA1, i don't really think i can get that high. But i think 245+++ would be great!

I think that i have work hard for CA1 but my results are not what i wanted.

English: 66.5/95
Mathematics: 68/100
Science: 60/100
Normal Chinese: 67/100
Higher Chinese: 86/100( 51.5/60 )

Although the results are not what i worked for and what i wanted, but this will not be a setback, but a motivation to me. I will strive for the best only with determination and 'POWER'.

Term 1 Week 8 : Singapore Education System

I believe that Singapore is really a stressful and competitive country when it comes to education systems, but I find that exams is a good way to see if we can understand our teacher's 'lectures'.
I think that our education systems helps our students or scholars to acheive outstanding results in competitions. Exams can help us track how much we understand during lessons.I think that we should not spend too much time on exams but also some time on experiments, as it will help alot when exams questions with experiments. Some students can't answer experiment questions as they are 'straightforward' as they spend time on 'How To Answer Question' and not 'How to Do It'.

After school, i will usually play badminton with my brother. On Saturday, i have Chinese tuition and the other three main subjects two-three hours later. I have Piano Lessons on Sunday and the next day....BACK TO SCHOOl!

Another year closer to our PSLE. Got to work hard for the coming year. Everyday got to do exam papers.

Misses:
Not getting good results.
Not getting DISTINCtION in piano grade 5.
Not getting DISTINCTION in theory grade 3.
Hits:
Getting a merit in piano grade 5. Missed 4 marks in getting distinction.
Getting a merit in theory grade 3. Missed 4 marks in getting distinction.

Targets for 2009:
Getting good results for PSLE.
Getting into good secondary schools, continuing to study in anderson schools. E.g. Anderson Secondary School, Anderson Junior College in future....

Reflection : P5 Camp @ Jalan Bahtera

Wah finally camp come liao. So happy can go camp with friends after so many years. Its boring when reach school, my group's instructor, Nisa, came and told us what to do when we reach the campsite. Our group name was at first Squeeze! than Warriors than 9-10 Warriors. Long story. We played Rock Wall which cause my muscleache. We also played Kidnapped and YongLe was so called 'kidnapped'. Time passed very fast while we were playing at the campsite. I hope that I can get to stay overnight at campsite again in my secondary life.

Reflection : Olympics 2008

1) The olympic was developed in Greece 776 BC. Then, athletes from all over Greece travelled to Olympia to take part in the Games. There were no teams - each man competed just for himself. The event, called the pentathlon, included a sprint, discus and javelin throwing, a long jump and wrestling. The winners were not given medals but crown made by olive leaves.

2)This event is all about the hardwork, determination for one's goal a sportsmanship.

3)I have watched alot of games in the Olympic. Like, table-tenis, badminton, 'running', swimming and even shot put. But the best of all was the Opening Ceremony.

4)I think our Team impresses me alot. It has been 48 years since Singapore got its medal from a Weightlifter. Now the reporters don't have to ask him the same question every year.

5)Frankly speaking, I don't really like sports that much. Now concentrating on my Piano Exam, hoping to get distinction.

6)I think its work organizing the Olympics. Its once every four years that Olympics could be held. Hope Singapore can hold the next Olympic Games.

I sleep for about 6-7 hours every day but surprisingly its enough for me. Sadly, actually I wanna sleep later to watch TV but my parents are always 'BLOCKING' me from doing it. I don't agree that we have many things to do, only the matter planning what to do is the only way.

Cyberbullying is all about bullying in the internet. There are many kinds of bullying in the cyber world like flamming,vulgarities,spreading rumour,copright and even hacking accounts! Imagine one day if your precious account had been hacked,how sad would you feel? CyberBullying is not good and we should stop it! NDP 08 Preview

Wah shiok arh!...NDP Preview finally come liao. Got fireworks,the lions,so many,so good!!! In school so sian,waited about 1 and a half hours,sian arh. When reaching the place,still got to climb up, sian! When the show started,could see Adrian Pang,Michelle Chong and lots more...so cool all the famous actors! Wah ending best of all..the fireworks was AWESOME,its like 1-to-1 with the fireworks,COOL!!! Can still remember myself screaming at the top of my voice....Wish can go again next year,but it counts on my luck in winning the lucky draw to get the tickets to NDP..Wish Singapore a Happy 43rd Birthday!!!

Food Reflection

Food sold in the school is tremendously delicious but there is one special thing,HYGIENE. People in the school and from my class said that some of the stall's food sold are unhygienic.People said that in stall A there are cockroaches or nymph and bugs are found in some food (e.g. Noodles and Rice). Words said by people might be a hoax and might be a fact, but LAST BUT NOT LEAST...the food ROCKS!

My ambition is to be a Musician.I have started learning piano since about 5 years ago.Being a Musician needs alot and alot of practise.I hope that one day i could be someone like Mozart or Beethoven.I believe that one day i will be able to become a sucessful musician and will be better than Mozart and Beethoven.

CNY Reflection

I think this year's CNY is not as good as last years'.That is because not many people came to my house.Only on The Third day of CNY i went to Jurong Bird Park with my cousins and my family. :)We saw many bird like parrots,hawks and many more.The bird which caught our attention is the Parrot.It could speek and even sing 3 different song.The Parrot sang Ke Ren Lai(Chinese),Happy Birthday(English) and Ra Sa Sayang He(Malay).At night,my mum ask me to open my Ang Baos(Red Packets).We counted and counted and found that i and my Bro had $1,518 altogether...(Not so sure if correct).It was shocking because we did not had many Ang Baos from our relatives.By the Way,Happy Chinese New Year to all...!!! :D

The first day of school in Anderson Primary School on 2008..........

On the first day of school, i felt quite happy to see my friends again better than staring at the ladtop having headache.I was shock when i know that my teacher was MR.ALAN TAN!!!!!!!!!!! when i came to school. I and my friends thought that he was a very strict teacher (like a lion). But after a few days,i begun to know that he will not anyhow scold students and he is a nice teacher.
